Nocturnal adventure

This first night we booked a guided nocturnal walk. As it turned out, we were the only ones that turned up. A private tour.

It was great. I did not bring my camera because of rain and the obvious darkness... so no photos... sorry. Big Kangaroo Island kangaroos kept sneaking up on us, wallabies kept shooting away in front of our feet, (o)possums everywhere! And some koalas. There was one mother Koala with a 'joey' just above her in a small tree some two and a half meters above the ground, being swept back and forth in the wind. Femke, loving the koalas, really lovingly hoped the 'joey' would loose its grip and drop out of the tree... for the obvious reasons... we even witnessed a koala climbing the wrong tree, slowly coming to the conclusion it was in the wrong tree, watching it climb down again, waiting a bit embarrassed on the bush floor, searching for another tree, sniffing it a bit better this time and nesting in this tree for a snack... very cool...
